RAJASTHAN

The captivating jewel of India

Rajasthan is a feast of colours, aromas and bustling activity, filled with energy by its friendly people. There is an abundance of architectural riches including magnificent forts and sumptuous havelis (mansions), representing many epochs of India's past. Stay in palaces once presided over by maharajahs, between excursions into the desolate beauty of Rajasthan's sandy expanses to discover native animals, watch the sun slide into searing sunsets or camp out beneath brilliantly starry skies.

There are impressive sights in many parts of the state, such as Udaipur with its enticing lake, the blue city of Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and its citadel, the rat temple of Bikaner or Pushkar's theatrical camel fair. These attractions and more are only part of the diversity to be found in Rajasthan, and will make visitors hungry for more.

On that first trip to India, the "Golden Triangle", comprised of New Delhi, Jaipur with its stunning Amber Fort and the Taj Mahal in Agra, is an ideal appetiser for the astounding banquet that is incredible India.
